Postdoctoral bioinformatician/Data Analyst

We are looking for an exceptionally motivated, skilled and experienced postdoctoral bioinformatician to join our team at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich. The postdoctoral fellow will contribute to the research network ‘CRC 1064 – Chromatin Dynamics’, which is funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG). The role of the scientist will be to provide collaborative bioinformatics support for the network members in analyzing quantitative genomics and proteomics data.

Starting date: 1.10.2013

Qualifications

The applicant should have a PhD degree in a relevant subject (Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Mathematics, Statistics, Biology and alike) and solid experience in genomics and/or proteomics data analysis. Good programming skills and a robust knowldege of statistics are important pre-requisites. Experience in analysing microarray, ChIP-Seq and RNA-Seq data would be very much appreciated. We also encourage application of biologists with a strong interest in computational work. Minimum requirements are basic programming or scripting skills (Perl, R) and basic knowledge of statistics. Given the collaborative and multidisciplinary nature of the project, good communication skills are essential and fluency in spoken and written English is required.

Salary

The salary will be according to the German salary scale for public employees (TVL E13), which depends on age, experience level and number of dependents.
